But...there is a squawking/squealing noise coming from the speedo. The gauge itself seems to working fine, and I've lubed the cable end that goes into the gauge, but there is still a noise that is definately related to the rpm of the cable that gets louder as you speed up...any ideas? Remember, this is the Fasty that sat dormant in a barn for 25 years, and was recently resurected...

| that is the 'death cry' of the speedo cable. it is just a matter of time until the needle starts jumping, then you get nothing... flatline. just get the new cable ordered and change it! this is only a 30 minute job. |
