i am planning on getting my 67 squareback into nice condition and i would like to know if anyone can give me a link or contact info for anywhere that i can get rocker panels (i just need the outer covers) at a reasonable price. and i also want to know if i should attempt to repair the front fender that has the typical rust spots at the dog leg and by the antenna. if not where can i find a replacement fender in the midwest because ther is no hope trying to ship something that big. thank you for your time.

Rocker panels, try
www.type3detectives.com

Also, Martin with the DDB might be able to get you what you are looking for. Ie..the rockers and/or the fenders. I am sure he has or knows about what it would cost to ship a fender and how if it is possible. Contact him through his site at
www.theddb.com
Hope this helps

There is a guy Gary Leonhardt in Oklahoma City that has alot of Type 3 stuff including new replacement rockers. PM me for his phone number.

CIP has new outer rocker skins too (for a couple of years now). But I don't know if the stamping has been improved yet or not (probably not). I bought a set of them when they first came out, and the replacement pieces are a little off set than the factory parts are. What I mean by this, is that they seem shifted a little to the front, so you end up with a bigger gap at the front of the rear fender, at the bottom under the door to fender seam. They still fit, but don't come with any holes in them either, so you have to drill your own holes to reinstall the lower trim. Just a few thoughts on these parts. I hope this helps.
