I have a 68 fastback. I've got a 1776cc Strictly Foreign engine sitting in my garage. I don't know anything about cars so I thought this would be a good project to learn on. This is a great car, but it's already been taken apart so I don't know where to start putting it back together. I have some brazillian carbs for it. (the previous owner stripped of the fuel injection and put them on) I have asked lots of people that know about vw's and they are all very impressed with the great shape the body's in, but they don't want another project. I want to sell the thing for $2000. (the engine alone is worth $1900 new) If anybody has questions or wants to buy her just let me know. Tell your friends. I can post pictures if you want me too.

Ya but we are not suppose to post classified ads in the forums. We try keeping the fourms clean with the classifieds only in the right section.

I guess I was trying to see what people think of it more than sell it. I'm still not totally sure I want to sell it. If someone asks I'll sell it but I guess in my head I still have plans to fix it up.

so... Put the motor in it! Get it running! figure out what the po took apart and start figuring out how to put it together. Look at pictures, get a manual, post actual questions on this site and we'll help you out. It's not a freaking nuclear bomb, lots of people have started with a pile of parts and ended up with a car and some knowledge. If you don't have fun, and impress your friends/family getting it running, then building vw's is probably not for you. But at least you would have a running vehicle to sell. 2 grand is probably the tops for a non running, taken apart fastback no matter how good the body is. But you'd have plenty of takers if it ran like that motor should and was all complete.
