| :?: I am the lucky owner of a 1975 Rabbit and I wanted to resto-custom fit it with a little hint of VW's air-cooled days. One of the ways I wanted to do that was slap on a set of EMPI-style 4-lug Sprint Star wheels, but I'm concerned that the holes in the wheels won't line-up with the bolts. Is there anyone out there that can tell me if they do or not? |

| aircooled 4 lugs are not the same as water cooled 4 lugs. They won't fit without custom drilled drums or adapters. |

| :( I had thought about adapters, but is there such a thing as a 4-lug to 4-lug wheel adapter? Also, I read some years ago that they can be on the dangerous side. Thanks for your response. I guess I'll have to look for something else. |

| I've seen Beetle 4 lugs to watercooelr 4 lugs adapters made in billet before. Pretty $$. Better and cheaper to get yoiur hubs redrilled plus that won't screw up your offset like adapters would. |

they can be done..
the rabbit is 4X100 mm
4 to a different 4 is safe as they will offset the holes in the extra space of the adapter...
I think the guy @ http://www.wheeladapter.com wil make em for you if you give him the specs |

That's what I meant on adapters, there will be 8 holes total but the 4x100mm is too close to the center hole that steele and especially alluminium adapters will be on the iffy side, so I mentioned Billet Alluminium to use as those adapters since they are stronger but more $$$.
I've only seen 2 adapters for the above combo, and both are made of billet. They will push your wheels outwards since they do act as spacers as well. Which will mess up your wheel choices from the extra width made. So redrilling your hubs won't messup the track width nor your offset and cheaper then the billet adapters. Just my 2 cents... |

| Usually if putting a RWD wheel on a FWD car, they can stand to be spaced out a little. A good offset for a 15x7 wheel is around 28-25mm. Your Sprint Stars are probably 6" wide, so a similar offset should work fine. |
