I'm working on narrowing my glovebox opening using rage gold body filler. Now I'm wondering if this will crack down the road? I did go to bare metal underneath it.
If there's any chance of it cracking and causing major grief, I'll get rid of it and look at a welded in strip of metal instead.
In the end it will be a band of material about 3/16" in cross section around the top and sides of the opening:
Opinions from those more experienced with filler? (That's everyone BTW) |

| Yeah, I'd say there is definitely a chance. You have a hinged, moving part there that will be opened and slammed shut many many times. If you remove the door and leave the gb open, perhaps you'll get away with it. If you have the metal skills, I would fabricate a steel opening. |

Are you going metal dash and the glove box door is too small ?

Thanks, that's the thread I was thinking of.
I'm going to take my chances and go the filler route. I can count on one hand the number of times per year that I open the glove box in my current daily driver car, so i don't see it getting a lot of action.
Only time will tell I guess! |
