Thanks, I wish it was "just like that". Snap my fingers.
I finished welding up the side panel and even set my shirt on fire welding up in the wheel well.

I use an old levi jacket when welding to avoid getting that look that's on your face. lol
Nice work, and quick too!
Edit: You know, if you keep cutting/welding there will be nothing OG left on that bus Jeremy. |

| Yeah, I estimate it is probably about 70% orginal now. I don't care about that anymore. Now I just want it to be nice looking one day. In a couple of years I plan to blast the whole thing and start over. For now I am just fixing the big stuff and enjoying driving it. Its now the Frankenbus. |

That is very low on the list. Your beetles metalwork is before Amys. |

I have just been driving the bus for that last couple of years with a temp corner held in with clamps and sheetmetal screws. I just got a nicer corner yesterday so that will be fixed for good maybe this summer. Since 2006 it has been To Philly, New jersey and Charlotte twice. Also is now in the Airheads cataloge for their corner window seals. It was also in a UK mag Commercial and Camper showing my hurst bumpers.

Man, I'm amazed of your work, it's incredible. Your bus looks pretty cool the way it is though. Was curious, I have a lincoln mig 140 with the acetelyn and was wondering when doing your sheet metal work, what do you recommend the setting be set to. Mine is set at 3 for speed and B for voltage. I get pretty good results there. Also, what do you use to cut the sheetmetal out to replace with good donor metal?? I use a cutoff wheel but was thinking of getting a sawzaw (is that how you spell it)??
My big issue is when replacing a cut out panel, how do you get the new panel to fit so perfect?? Right now I'm replacing both rear bumper brackets on my 61 ragtop and then tacking in the original apron, so I need a good fit, I have a plan sorted out and have measured many times but I just don't want to mess up.
One day I hope to have a bus myself, it's the ultimate minivan, yes, I have kids.. Take care |
