helping my son {19} with his project.
74 super Beetle with pretty stout 1915 With dual 40mm webers i dont believe the factory fuel line that runs from the tank through the tunnel to the rear is sufficient as the carter elec. fuel pump we have to supply the webers is 5/16.I think i need to run a new line {5/16}. I also dont believe it would be too easy to put the new line through the tunnel so Ive concluded I need to remove the tank, install a new 5/16 fitting on the tank, run the new line either under the car {easiest}, or run the new steel tube through the cockpit. Any body have any similar experiance? |

In my opinion, stock fuel lines are good up to 2332cc. I doubt that a 1915 with Dual 40's is using more fuel than the stock line will flow.
My 2180, with dual 44 Webers used a stock fuel line, without fuel starvation. |

I agree with Bob, that size engine should be ok if you step the fittings down on the pump, so be it...
I hope the pump your speaking of is regulated as most carbs only like about 3 or 4 pounds max anyway... |
