Im helping my 19 year old son with his project.A 74 SuperBeetle with a stout 1915 Got a carter elec fuel pump supplying dual 40mm webers all with fuel lines in the 5/16 range.Im thinking i need to replace the factory fuel line from the tank to the rear which runs through the tunnel.Going through the tunnel seems more of a hastle than worth so im wondering under the pan {easiest}, or through the cockpit. Anybody with any experiance with such an applicatoin. Probably need to puul the tank and replace the outlet fitting too

if the hard line through the tunnel is in good shape, use it. If not, run hardline under the center of the pan (IMO, easier and safer than routing through the cabin), keeping it straight and well anchored.

All racing associations don't allow fuel lines run in the passanger compartment, so it's either the tunnel or maybe outside.
If the stock line is OK... use it. I've had no problem with a 1904 run past 7600rpm.
So unless you have a large engine, running mega rpms... stock i fine. |

Its a complete waste of time to replace the fuel line with your small engine. You would only start to see a problem when you exceed 180-190hp.

Replacing the fuel line in the tunnel is also a very tough nut to crack.
