I'm working out the last of the bugs on the '67 Fasty, and I have one that someone might be able to direct me to a link on, or have some experience with. When I put on the turn signal for a left-hand turn, the turn signal continues to blink after I have completed the turn. Right-hand turns work fine - only lefts are a problem. I know that there is likely an issue inside the steering column, but having not ever had to dig into there, I wouldn't mind some guidance first...anything to avoid looking like a retired Florida driver, going on and on down the road with a never-ending turn signal blinking...
Thanks!

Are you saying the turn signal is not self-cancelling and returning to the center point? That could be an issue with the steering wheel to column adjustment or the cancelling ring on the back of the steering wheel could be damaged on that side.

You could also have a short in the turn signal electrical plate underneath the steering wheel. Or the little springs and plates under there could be damaged or stuck somehow.

I think this one time I wish I had taken some photos of the assemblies when I had them apart...

I was just gonna answer

"When your broke"

but the title doesn't match the question

I had the same problem with my '69 Beetle many years ago. It was the spring inside the turnsignal switch. I had to take the steering wheel off and replace the turnsignal switch. Not the most fun project as I recall.

I was gonna say when you get the eye for a new rusted hulk and your fresh new paint doesn't look so prtty.
