| Ok I just went out and wrote down the VIN Number on my fasty (it is on the edge right under the hood on that little silver plate... right???) well i went to the samba and looked up VIN numbers and,.................. It doesn't match any thing. My number starts with 917 and the only numbers on thesamba start with 3. Is that the Vin or is it somewhere else,... or is that the chassis number. Need Help Please!!!!! :( :shock: :cry: :?: |

| What year was it supposed to be that you bought? A 67? If so, you might be close, but really need to look at those numbers a little closer. |

| OK, the vin numbers should start out with 318 (68)or 319(69). The first 3 is the model type (3), the second is the body style (1) either Fastback or Notch, and then year (8 or 9) for a 68 or 69. This is how it works for a Square, 369 , model type-3, body style-6, year-69. A 68 and 69 use numbers on the dash pad, on the tunnel (under rear seat), and up front near the hood latch receiver.
