I was wondering how much I could get for my car (ball park estimate). heres the deal; It is a 1973 fastback. it was in the shop just now and it is running better than I've seen a lot of stock volkswagens. the interior has everything including newly upholstered bench seats and front seats. the headliner is in pretty good shape but has a decent sized rip in it. no carpet. the trunk and floorpan has been coated in some sound-deadening paint, but besides a small hole on the battery tray, the pan really is solid. it has a dent with surface rust on the left fender and a rust bubble on the other one, but I have a replacement for each side that're ready to paint. the paint job is otherwise in very good shape- very glossy baby blue with a racing stripe down the driver's side. the ugliest rust spots are the on the rear apron. the thing is pretty badly infected with cancer, and will need to be replaced. also there will need to be some patch repair on the left front quarter panel. The parts aren't too hard to find really. I could get a quarter cut for as little as like 150 for either rust spot I have a good deal of replacement parts including all the chrome trim and such. I live in Sacramento, and originally got it a year ago for 1400. It has been the most reliable car in my family, and we even have a 95 volvo to prove how good of running condition it is in. Oh yeah, the electrical is also working near perfectly. I could even throw in a good stereo and little home-made wood console with it, worth about 150. So what do you guys think I could get for this car? I appreciate the help.

Later model T3s are not as popular as the early models, like bays and splitties (Positives and negitives for both styles). However, somebody out there will want a last year Fastback, so don't give up hope.
Either way your best bet is to post some pictures somewhere (with a link) or here so folks can see it and make a more informed assessment.

It's really hard to say without photos.

Yes, '70-'73s are less popular than the earlier models.

Without any more info, I would say probably the $1400 you paid for it.
