Hello all,
I need a resource to somebody that sells car covers for bay window busses (westy's)...
I need one that will be water proof, as I've got a missing window and no room in the garage right now...
any ideas? |

I've kind of noticed that Wolf covers are the standard...
has anyone tried any other outdoor covers to great success? |

| you may want to tape some plastic over that open window to keep critters out. Under a tarp with easy access would be great place for raccoons or fauna |

Just in case you have not considered it...
At work we recently (3 years ago) bought a "portable building" to cover one of our boats. 12' w x 8' h x 20' l with about 2" aluminum tubing, holdowns and a fitted tarp like cover for about $300 or so from NorthernTool.com. Ours is sort of rounded on top to shed snow/rain and it actually works pretty good at keeping out the elements.
I drove my bus in there one day and these is actually enough room to pull the engine out if you had to.
Just a thought. |

| bus depot has bus covers ranging in price from about 90 bucks to over 200 dollars for the real deal.......but for that price you can get a few new seals and maybe even a window |

I haven't found decent info on the covers since BD redesigned their site (look here) but all the materials they are made out of are explained nicely at Pelican's website: Custom Cover Materials.
I really hate car covers. They are so expensive especially the fitted ones and they all have tradeoffs. Sometimes it seems like a tarp is just as functional when your "breathable" cover fails to repel water after only 6 months of use. Phrases like "virtually waterproof protection" turn me off.
Last time I was inclined to get one for the other car it was at Costco for $30 and the fabric was made by Kimberly Clark (pretty sure it was a Wolf brand). I think it's back up to $50 now but too small for a bus. |

Be careful that a cover flapping in the wind does not leave fine scratches in the paint.

| What window is missing? Windows and seals for bays are pretty cheap and easy to install. What year and model do you have? |
