| The front tire mount basically just uses large sheet metal screws to hold it in place, which definitely puts some strain on the front sheet metal. If there is any significant amount of bondo or fiberglass I would say their would be a good chance for it to crack. You can look here in the classifieds or on ebay for front tire mounts, as they are relatively cheap. I think you would be better off just buying a new spare tire cover as they are cheap to begin with.... |

| What year is your bus, there might be better places for it than a fibreglassed front. Jeremy |

The current kits don't come with sheet metal screws: they come with long toggle bolts that are fed through the front. I don't they they are appropriate to use.
I left my mount with the bodyshop to consider when they were filling the front panel and they mounted it for me before I could say anything. They threw the toggle bolts away and used a metal plug that expanded on the backside when a bolt was threaded in. I didn't catch the name of the item but it looked really nice.
When I was thinking of how to approach the problem I was looking into removable rivets from tuf-lok. Some of these are very strong now and it seemed like an interesting way to attach the mount semi-permanently. |

the bus is a 73' baywindow not camper and i just wanted to put a tire on the front because in the back when i turn it rattles around and makes a lot of noise i would also rather have a tire on the front than an emblem i just hope when i put it on if i do that it does not rip off the front of my bus
