I'm replacing the exhaust system all from copper rings out... I have the copper rings and I have the triangular gaskets... how many exhaust studs part n14684.1 on Bus Boys will I need?
How about the nuts and bolts for the elbows, heater boxes, etc.. are they all the same? Where can I find them or will the local hardware store have em? What size are they?
Lastly How many donut clamp kits do I need?
I have a 78 westy FYI.... And I can't look at it- it's in storage and not near my house...
thanks...

What kind of exhaust do you have? Stock?
This is the best resource for stock exhaust part numbers: Old Volks Home.

- 8 8x9x56mm studs are required. Use 8mm copper nuts.

You can use fractional or metric. Use stainless. The originals were:
- 12 M8x25mm for elbows (afterburners as they are sometimes called)
- 6 M8x25mm for mounting cross-over tube or extractor to heat exchangers
- 1 M8x28mm, 1 M8x18mm to mount Y pipe to crossover pipe
- 3 Mx25mm to mount y-pipe to extension pipe or cat
- 3 M8x15mm to mount tailpipe to muffler

One to mount the extension pipe or cat after the Y piece to the muffler. |
