| I have a 71 Squareback that I bought a couple of months ago. The previous owner wreaked the right front. The problem I'm having is I have no injector pulse. I've been told from a local mechanic that one side of the injector plug is "key hot". Is this true?? I don't have 12 volts on either side of my injector plugs. Where does this 12 volts come from? Where would I be able to find a wiring diagram for this?? My books do not show the injector electrical. Any help would be appreciated. Scott..... |

If it's original VW FI then you need a new mechanic, and a Bentley book. It has the FI diagram. You can also find it here- http://tiserves.com:1030/VW/downloads/pdf/Glenn-FI-Type3.pdf - on page 23.
One side of your injector is grounded to the engine. The other side is hot when the ECU tells it to be hot (around 3 volts). 12v would fry your injector pretty quickly.
