Yes it's sacrilidge but will a VW Type 1 fit in a 356 and bolt up to the trans?

I think it will with if the vw engine has a 6 volt flywheel. What year is the 356?

The 1959 and earlier A's etc had 180 mm clutches then in 1960 the B's went to 200 mm clutches. Not sure if that means you need a different flywheel.

The Type 4 / 914 engine is a popular transplant.

Here's a nice Super 90 engine for $5400.

I built a 2387 for a 912 a few years back.the car is almost done.......I hope.
