| the irs bolts on my 73 super keep getting loose and i i tighten them all the time with an allen but they dont seem to get tight. what tool is it anyway cuz like i know it aint allen. locktight too but iwanna know what tool that has leverege to tighten them. |

Do you mean the cv joint bolts? Those use what's called a triple square. I believe they are 8mm.

| Yeah, it looks like a large Torx head, but it is 12 pointed, not 6 like a Torx. |

| Clean out the ends well, replace any that are stripped and use the tool Glenn pictured, torque them to 25 ft/ lbs like Bruce says and you should not have any trouble... make sure the special serrated type factory lock washers are there too. |

| If you've run it for any length of time with loose bolts, the holes will be elongated. If they are, your flanges are f'd. Good used ones should cost you next to nothing. |

| like i jus redid all the boots and new greas but like ive checked it 2 timeas and like grease is all over out side of it an like they are all loose. not like almost fallin out but liike hand tightened in. whats the tool called? what size? and will lock tight werk? |

Every VW catalog has the tool.
It is an 8mm 12 point driver.
CIP1 has them for $7.95
