On my buggy when I turn the wheel to the left the steering starts to bind and then I see the rear of the top left a-arm shift where it is bolted to the frame

I'm guessing the bushing is shot and probably there is an underlying reason why it binds and caused the bushing to go bad
I don't know who fabricated the buggy, how do I size the bushings to replace them? And where do I find them?

Thanks
Stevie

If its a standard size hopefully, this may get you there.
take the shocks off and cycle the arms to check for binding?

Thanks, I'm not sure if mine are half bushings or not

I'm gonna pull the shock and the tie rod off and check for binding

It has rack and pinion, maybe that thing is messed up

They pretty much have to be.

Have someone sit in the car and turn the wheel back and forth while you watch and see what's going on. Anything worn should show up. Maybe some better pics of the A arm setup might lead someone to identify it. Good luck!

turns out the tie rod heim joint on that side was froze up
I got it moving somewhat better with some penetrating oil
doesn't bind anymore but I'm guessing the A-Arm bushing still needs replaced

Post a pic or two of your a arm setup, maybe it can be identified.

I just went through replacing mine, and had to figure out bushings on my own. I bought a in/out micrometer for the measurements. Don't measure
your old bushings, measure the metal parts. If your old bushings have #'s molded in, that may help.

Bruce, at- http://suspension.com/4-bar.htm

is very helpful but look around on his site before contacting him. You may find what you need by searching. He has bushings for lots of applications. I couldn't find the exact bushings for my car and ended up using ones from a truck leaf spring rear suspension, and had to shave the OD down a bit and the length. A little work, but they work great.
