Today i went through and I took out my gas tank sealed everything up, and repainted it, but my main in5tenet was to make it so my fuel gauge would work, well go figure I put it all together and of course it dosn't work!. Now my question is how do I put the gague in to work. It's the late annoying type which you twist in, what way do the floats face? Do the floats face to fuel filler when you put them in? or to the front of the car or to the right? Right now they are faced to the front so i figure that's not the spot, well I'll appreciate any help i can get thanks

I would have to check on the direction but the most common gage problem is not grounding properly. Paint it up pretty and now it's not grounding. Pull the wire off the sender and touch it to a good ground (with the key on) and the gage needle will jump to the other side if the gage part is ok. If the sender is bad they can be fixed most of the time by pulling the side cover off and polishing the wires where the points slide with an eraser. If the wires are broken then buy a new one.
