Well I picked up my first Bus. A 1971 Bay.
It's a cheapie, but its a bus with clear title.
No Motor, ( putting together a 1600 for it )

So far, Brake overhaul, New Tie rods,

On the list, New Clutch Cable, Accelerator Cable, and Axle Boots. New Tires. and a good clean out.

The Bus had sat for 15 years, it was parked when the accelerator cable snapped, it had been in a barn with feed stored in it, thus attracting every mouse or rat, along with a few roaches. The motor was sold before I got to it, and No bumpers.

Here are some pictures

Data Info:

Pulled the M codes:

Plan on just rolling it as it looks,
If you have any suggestions or feedback, let me know.

True

Nice find, but I kind of suck at bodywork, so I might have kept walking. :D

Still, it seems to be basically an unmolested Deluxe, in the desirable 1971 year! A DP 1600 engine can be had easily enough for cash, but I would seriously consider the steel rot, if nothing else for structural integrity. There are plenty of threads about the windshield sill and the driver's floor pan.

Other:

1) You can exclude yourself from the Middle Seat Rant!

2) Some people would say: It has nice patina :P !

3) No bumpers, right...? :(

love the color combination
especially the interior

Good luck and have fun with it

I can't understand how something would lose that much paint, but it looks cool! Might want to think about fixing the jacking points though...

Yea, I am starting to tear down a 1600 that I pulled from our Super, I had some help putting a 1955cc together for it. Click Here if interested.

your saying that the middle seats are usually missing?

lol Patina... I call it rust. yes, it is what it is... :D

correct, No bumpers, think they were picked up by someone else...
really I thought this was a parts bus until the title was mentioned... I will not venture down the NO TITLE road again.

I agree.. something has to be missing from the story of why so weathered.
Will be checking the underneath structure a little more in detail.
will post more pics when I do. I get photo happy at times.

If you have any suggestions or feedback, let me know. That bus has a lot going for it, but it needs more than that list. Signal housings, lenses, headlight, mirrors, every rubber seal, wheel bearings, center link, dampner, shocks, fuel tank cleaned, electrical debug, trans gone through, etc.. I'd say for 6 grand you will have a patina driver. :D BTW, that's a sweet shorty single cab back there! 8)

doing some research on the Tires...

not sure if I can link this here or not.... but the RADIAL RA08/O.E. by HANKOOK TIRE are on sale for $69 ea. through Feb 28th..

seems like a decent deal. what ya think?

http://www.performanceplustire.com/products/tires/productID/7420/tireDataID/30547

set of 4 would run $276 with Free S/h.
