The stolen VW register was founded from an idea of how to find a solution to a theft of a friends beloved VW beetle. Following the theft and the potential for never having the car returned or even seeing an adequate insurance payout reflecting the hard work, love and devotion put into the beetle, had me thinking what could be done above and beyond that of the police to help find and secure the return of fellow dubbers prides and joys. Thus the Stolen VW register was born as a resource for dubbers by dubbers.
The core way in which the stolen VW register works is to share out through social media the details of thefts as they are made aware to us.
We have two Facebook pages into which the details and pictures of stolen vw's are posted and the fantastic people whom have joined the Facebook pages share out far and wide to as many friends, clubs, forums and business's as possible. The register has only been running since the summer of 2013 with nearly 3500 members and growing by the day , yet already the total numbers for each post are hitting figures as high as 35000 pairs of eyes around the globe
now every person that sees the posts could be the potential pairs of eyes that sees the stolen vw in transit, sees it hidden or is offered it or parts from it for sale. Every member is the difference it's kind of like having 1000's of Sherlocks on the case and it works we have already been part of four recoveries dubs that may have never been reunited with their distraught and devastated owners.
The stolen VW register can be so much more with more members so please join in become part of the team for you could be the one that helps a fellow dubber be reunited with their treasured ride.
The stolen Vw register will be attending shows during the 2014 season and with our motto of Protect and Recover we will showing of ways to secure your Vw and have in place some great products from business's that are supporting what we do they will all be offering discounts to members of the register.
The register is not a business and thus funding to promote the register comes from sponsorships from our proud supporters and from the sales of stolen vw register stickers

Hopefully the thieves will see the stickers on your dubs and will think not this one as it's going to be all over the internet in hours and leave it alone.
Let's make our scene safe and if the worst happens then in great numbers you'll have the very best friends looking out for your Vw as if it were their own.
