View original topic: Slip in, thick wall AA 88's Any feedback on how they last?

Planned on buying some stock 85.5's for my rebuild, but if these thick walls are doing good I would like to run them. Does anyone have first hand experience with the way they hold up?

Build is

ACN's L3 heads
CB's light weight lifters
ACN's Web split duration 218
Scat 5.394 rods
CB CW 69 Chromoly crank
CB 12.5 Flywheel
Dual 40 IDF
1 3/8 real extractor

Planned on running 8.5 compression

The reason I'm not planning on machining the case and doing a real 88 or bigger is outlined here if interested...

I dont know you why you would be worried. These babies are the thickest out there.  I built an engine with them a while back...no problems. ..And I assume you do know the heads have to be opened right? Order those after you have checked deck(should come in close to .055) and have them flycut at the same time.

for that engine absolutely run the TW88s. Get the heads bored for 92s, it will all go together like Butta'. They are super reliable too.

yes to the heads, I'm waiting for my cam to be ground once it's in my grubby hands I will be setting my deck and ordering the heads last. That way I can get them cc'ed and opened up for the 88's all in one wack!
