rizzag Tue Aug 05, 2003 10:49 am

chrome engine tin sucks, leave your tin as is or paint it black!

helsingborgthug Tue Aug 05, 2003 10:52 am

im not going to have to deal with cleaning it if i sale it ;)

Plus the paint has gotten alot of grease on it and simple green wont even make it wince

Denise Kern Tue Aug 05, 2003 11:01 am

yeah but chrome makes the engine run hotter, and a lot of people get turned off by all that chrome under the decklid.. Chrome don't get you home!.. I would personally have greasy paint on good tin rather than have some Empi chrome junk all over my engine though, I think most would agree

Yeah, this car was a trailer queen when I got it and I have driven it alot, and I know chrome doesn't get you home, it has broken down on me several times.

you silly silly people. everybody knows that chrome, and especially LOUVERED chrome makes you go faster!

LedZoSo Wed Aug 06, 2003 11:32 am

Keep it and don't hurt it. Save for another one or not.

helsingborgthug Wed Aug 06, 2003 11:36 am

oh yes, im getting chrome to go faster... The car was built for show a few years ago and had 600 miles on it when i got it. I use it as a daily driver...Im tired of beating it up, so im going to fix whats been done and sale it back to be shown.... The last owner shaved off all the trim and trunk handle and did a crappy job of mounting the inside bit that holds the trunk down so its cracking the paint on the trunk lid. Its going in the shop on monday to be reshaved, bondo (if theres any, probably is) taken out and fiberglass put in, along with some welding done and repainted.

Why not drop the 1914 in that!

helsingborgthug Wed Aug 06, 2003 11:58 am

no money for that at the moment. Even though a 1914 would be nice.

This looks like the car the that I seen at Bug-O-Rama, couple of years ago. If it is, Did you sell your CLEAN STOCK '64? If you are the one, I want to thank you again for selling the vert. Everytime I take her out on the road, I have several offers from strangers to buy the car. Greg from Bad Dog Racing lovers the vert.

So first you buy Mike's bug and now he's talking you into getting a volvo? :D

I don't quite get it either. What Volvo do you desire more than your '63 Ragtop?
