| I have run into a weird shifting at issue. with a stock shifter and lockout plate, i am unable to shift into first. however with the plate removed, it will. i also used one of those empi fake hurst shifters and it is fine too. i have the plate installed correctly. it just feels like i am hitting something solid. the tranny is new. just installed a new shift bushing. rod looks fine. any ideas? |

| The carpet kit hangs a little in the tunnel. Not much though. Also the shifter is in great shape and the pin looks new. I installed the same plate and shifter in another bug and they work perfectly. |

Not sure about your carpet comment. What are you saying?
How is your rear shift rod coupler? |

| Just thinking of any possibility. Coupler is a urethane one and is almost new. |
