View original topic: Black Silt from Cooling Pipe

When yanking the coolant pipe to radiator hose feed line to replace the pipes and hoses I got some black silt like looking stuff in my catch pan.. It is only in the catch pan that I used for the front of the van, and only for the feed line...

This is a first for me, as much of the sediment I have come across in the past usually rust colored...

Few facts:

This is about the third coolant change out since October... No I am not OCD, the original owner did it, I change that from the yellow to the pink stuff, and then again when I replaced the water pump, the plastic 'J" pipe and bleeder line, and the engine bay coolant lines...

With each change there was one bottle of Subaru Coolant Additive added to the Pentofrost ++ coolant at a 50/50 mix.

The last two changes the coolant had no rust sediment or other noticeable contaminates in it.. But, I didn't undo this junction..

Currently, the cooling system worked perfect with the temp needle hovering at the blinking light and no coolant consumption.

Any have an idea what this is and what it is telling me?
