I was considering buying a convertable beetle, I have plenty of parts for a hard top one, but what are the major differences in the pan/general structure of a convertablel? |

The ONLY difference between a Convertible and Sedan pan/chassis, are the jack pockets.
Sedans the pockets are welded to the Pan
Convertibles are built into the body Reinforcement rails.
Well... and the first two (second digit) serial numbers after 1965 model year.
11 = Sedan
15 = Convertible.
Other than that... no difference. All the extra stiffeners are built into the body.
