This knob has obviously become disconnected from the cable or whatever it is suppose to move. Can anybody describe how best to get in there, to repair. I tried pulling the knobs off of the slider. They don't seem to want to come off with hand pressure. I'm sure I can get them off with pliers, but don't want to do that without some guidance first. Searched for info, with no luck.

to remove mine; I moved levers to mid position as this has knobs furthest from bezel with more lever exposed. then used medium size needle nose pliers, which I can hold handle and tips on other side to gently pull knob off from behind ... slight wiggle / vibration applied with fingertips seemed to help.
after knobs are off, remember which goes where, remove bezel and ashtray.
smallish hands work better in there.
Have a small flashlight and / or headlamp with you. |
