View original topic: clutch lever... bent or strait is there a difference?

My 67 bus has a strait clutch lever, but a tranmission I got from a different bus is bent to the right. Any idea what the difference is? Or is it damage? The bent one looks to block the upper bell housing bolt and looks like it will make it more difficult to install the bolt and later adjust the clutch cable. Just curious... I'll probably change them, but I've had bad luck getting them off in the past. Thanks.

I've used both. You're correct about the problems a curved arm causes. I'd go with a straight one if you have a choice.

'67 came with straight so stick with that. The other one is earlier.

The side cover on a '67 transaxle has a matching angle of the bowden tube bracket to aim better at the straight arm but earlier side covers transaxles still work fine.
