Nice blog, Bassam! On your radio, L (or LW- "Lang")= longwave, M (MW- "Mittel") Medium wave, and U (UK)+ Ultra short wave (K= "Kurz", or Short).

MW is basically equivalent to AM in USA, and USA FM stations appear on the UK bands, since ultra high frequencies allow less interference.
