View original topic: '65 Turn signals work, front hazards don't

Hi,

All my turnsignals work ok.

When I pull the hazard switch, only the rear turnsignals flash, no flashing in the front.

I've got a 'normal' relay and am at a loss here.

can anyone help me?

thanks

Have you doublechecked your wiring?

US spec (combined brake/signal bulb) or European (separate bulb) signals?

tumisoft Wed May 14, 2014 8:40 am

US spec, one bulb for brake, turn signal

Maybe a bad hazard relay. You may even have 2 hazard relays. For front and rear. My 63 had something like that.

12V conversion

I'll re-check the wiring AND the relay(s) this weekend

If the emergency flasher and/or the emergency relay are 6V they will need to be replaced.

Your hazard relay, J1 in the diagram, isn't working. It grounds through the mounting clip and doesn't really get a good ground there. It's better to attach a wire to the can and ground it to the body somewhere.
