View original topic: Kadron Acceleration Lag

I am running dual Kadron 40s on a 1600 dp with a Pertronix SVDA and a Trimill dual tip exhaust. I notice that when cruising at 3000 rpms and I press the gas peddle that there is a big until I press further to push through it

My timing is good at 10 btdc idle and 34 at 3500.

I am running the standard 130 Main and 55 idle jets.

I am thinking that its an accelerator pump issue as the carbs are correctly synched.

If not getting enough squirt at 3000 rpm does that mean turn the adjusting nut in or out.

All help and input greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Among any other possible problems, you have too much ignition timing. Try 30 BTDC total. If it's sluggish at this setting, it means your carbs are too rich too.

Thanks John. For clarify you are saying total advance (including vacuum advance) should be no more than 30 btdc at 3500 rpms?

Thanks

No. Total advance should be checked with the vacuum hose OFF.
