I hav a 70 bug non sunroof, want to cut an weld in a full metal sunroof top that has been cut @ the window post.. What years are interchangeable,Thanks.. by the way aim NOT talking about a ragtop swap only all metal. .thanks

65-71 should be similar.
I think the mechs were similar/same, the mirror dome light,visor might be different tho.
64 had smaller windows. 72+ had bigger rear window. 73+super had curved front windshield.

I would stick with using a '68 to '70 roof clip.
'67 and earlier cars have different rear view mirror, headliner and sun visor attachments.
'71 was the first year for the crescent behind the rear quarter windows and that could come into play where you perform the graft work.
