Long story short I purchased a basket case buggy from a deceased owners son. I have what I am told is a 2054cc engine, I also have 2 pre 1971 AH code transmissions, no money in the budget for a bigger/better trans. The pressure plate on the motor has no center ring which I need for my throwout bearing. I have seen the kit mentioned from Sachs to convert the old pre 1971 style to the newer type. Has anyone used this with success?

A lot cheaper to just put the ring back on the pressure plate

That center ring won't work on mine, I'll have to keep checking the classifieds or just buy a new pressure plate.

You can get a Kennedy Stage I for about $100.00.

That should be able to handle whatever that engine puts out.
Beats having to mess around with it again. While you are at it put in a CB Super disc and be done with it.
I'm running that combo in my buggy and it handles my turbo just fine. |
