You know, I went ten years keeping the vw disease at bay. Then a vw buddy buys a synco, says its awesome. Tells me about samba . Then a year and a half ago bought an 87 syncro tin top drop a bunch of money into it, 2.5 suby aa trans sc kit.... among many other bits. Its in primer now. And you should have seen my wife roll her eyes yesterday when I told her we just bought another syncro! Another 87 tintop 7 seater . No cream puff but not nearly as rusty as my first one. Its a driver with a locker , no visible seam rust. Wierd thing is the drivers front arch an seat belt bolt area is toast, pass side just a little and rear fenders and seams are good . Drvers rear corner got hit kind of crudly pulled out and big bondo pie on it . Bonus is brand new engine installed 7 years ago and only 10k since then. Looks like crap, needs that metal fixed and paint. 2300 bucks!
It all your fault .
1 wife, two syncros and counting.

I have it worse than that, I was born into a VW family…held it off 20 years then…BAM! Now I have one. Pain in the ass but I love it.

I have managed to keep it down to one but I have scrapped 3 parts vans and 2 subarus doing so.

Toys are way cheaper than wives, so I hear..... (Still on my first one).

I definitely fall into the bad influence category...

VW folks my be bad influences, but they seem to be generally good people. I have a friend that bought an old MG and he quickly lost interest because (in his opinion) the community of MG owners are nasty people. I feel that owning a Vanagon puts you in a pretty good club.

I love all my vans, they are my children.
Best part about it...no wife needed :!:

My girlfriend thinks Syncros are awesome.
So I am building one for her.
His and hers Syncros :D

I have friends who have had 4 wives but only one car.

I have 4 cars but only one wife.

My way is definitely cheaper.

Yep... even the worst car in the world is cheaper than a wife. Specially
at the time of divorce!

I've always claimed that you can have a vanagon or have a girl friend but never both. One will quickly get jealous of the other!
