Hi,
Im new to the forum and new to the bay window bus world. My wife and I have been fans of westys for years and decided to take the plunge and buy a 74 westfalia which we just started to restore. I have just removed the interior to find this air duct off of the engine compartment right beside the drivers side wheel well.

It goes straight to the engine compartment. It had an old pair of boxer shorts stuffed up it. My question is what is it? My best guess was that it had to do with heating but i could not find anything on it and I don't see this on any other pictures from similar years buses.
