Looks similar to either the oil pressure switch or the brake light switch except that the oil pressure sw only has one terminal and the brake light sw have three! |

Some had 2 terminals but used 3 switches.
It's a brake light switch.

Could be, but I've also seen temp switches like that screwed somewhere into the top of the case on 914 motors. |

I believe it's the thermo switch used on type 2,and type 4 and also early
914 with 1.7 engines for cold start enrichment below 5* F. The On time for the cold start valve was increased time wise.
The 914's went to a single prong switch and used the case for the ground in later years for You that like sub-zero temperature zones.
I have really only seen a couple of those switches on cars in the U.S.A. on any air cooled engine |
