| I am getting a second stale air 40 horse near completion. I just installed an Italian made (perfect fitting) 40 stale muffler, purchased here, on thesamba and I have 2 different length pea shooters. The engine # is 5 233 046, 11/60. Which length should I use ...the short one @ 8 3/4 inches or the longer one @ 10 1/4 inches or doesn't it matter. I have NOS of both. |

| If I recall correctly, the longer tail pipes were used up through '67 models, and they went to the shorter pipes with the bumper style changeover for '68. |

| There ended up being three lengths for stock tail pipes... you have the shorter of the three... but you need the longest one if you want to be correct. The original length for 1967/older is 10 7/8" or 275mm. |
