I bought a rolling chassis for a restoration project I am working on. The front suspension is a 1967 ball joint with wide 5 bolt drum pattern. the rest of the chassis is all 1969 with IRS rear 69 4 bolt drum pattern. MY QUESTION IS. Can i replace just the front drums with 1969 front 4 bolt drums? Or would I need to replace the spindles as well swaping 69's for the 67's. Or should I just go to 4 bolt disk conversion on the front? Just changing drums and spindles would be less expensive. when I look up the brake shoes 65 to 78 front pads are the same. So my logic is if the pads are the same for a 67 and 69 front why would the drums not work? ANY THOUGHTS?

If you want to use 4 lugs, yes the drums will fit 66-68.5 spindles.
Simply use the bearings and seals that correspond with the year spindle.
(Inner spindle bearings and tie rod shank sizes changed mid year 68.)

Note.. the shoe adjusting hole must be opened up on the 67 backing plates as the 4 lug drums have no adjustment hole provisions.

Fyi its just as simple to go 5 lug on the rear.
