So, I screwed up 2 rocker studs on my new DRD heads by putting the shafton upside down. It boogered up the shoulder which may have not been seated fully in the first place. I bought some new studs and they are stretching. I've strectched 2 so far. The 2 studs that came with the heads are perfectly fine and have taken proper torque 5 times now. The replacement studs are stretching at 20ft lbs. I couldn't imagine I'm doing something wrong, but idk.
Anyone ever seen anything like this? I'm gonna have to get some from DRD cause he must have the good stuff. lol

My supplier got them from bugpack. I won't name him, but I will note that he does not have anymore. He contacted bugpack and they hadn't heard of this issue. |

20 ft-lb torque will stretch a "regular grade" stud.
Apparently, those studs are not the right stuff |

Stock VW studs torqued to 18 fp. will take quite a pounding and hold up. I think you got a set that was not heat treated correctly or made of the wrong steel. |
