In converting my '64 Beetle from 6 to 12 volts I notice that there are two ways I can attach the alternator plate to the alternator. Which way is correct? As it is in the photo, or the other way (or does it make a difference?)?

| turn it around 180* where the opening faces the bottom of the alternator. |

| yep, cooling slot should be facing down when installed. |

| I put the air intake down. Opposite the photo. They need to be down to pick up Air flow. The Slot matches with one on the fan shroud so cooling air is provided to the Alternator. |
