The VIN on this says March of 1963 but doesn't the 5 in the top left corner say 1965?

The 5 in the upper-left is for the 5th month - May.

So it if it says 12 5 for example, that is May 12th.

Ah, OK, I was thinking the last digit was the year. So it would be May 12th?

But still, the VIN in the bottom lower right seems to fall into the April 1963 month?

Ooops, I fixed my typo - yes, May 12th if it says 12 5
Earlier Buses have the year too.
Here's a 1/63 Bus with the year so I guess the year number ended somewhere in early 1963:

I agree that 1108573 appears to be near the end of April, 1963.
Interesting... but I have seen other cars near the end of the month where they did not line up with the VIN charts.

I think the M-code plate was when they started the Bus and the VIN charts are when they left the factory and/or the "final check" was completed.
