I am trying to put this directional switch on . I didn't take it apart and I have parts missing . The switch was purchased from Samba Classifieds .
I went to the hardware store and found a screw to fit the side hole and had to grind the top edges off for it to fit (see photo )

The bently talks about a " brass washer "...and a spring
Am I missing something where the pink tape is ??

Anyone have a how to fix this thread??? I tried SEARCH

You are missing the little clamp plate - the end of the screw is peened over to make it captive. I guess yours wasn't :(

It would be simply enough yet fiddly to make the little plate, drill & thread and trim to size and bend. I'll get you the dimensions if you want to try.

If I had a spare plate I'd drop you one in the mail. But I don't think I do.

measurements would help if no one has the piece and/or the canceling plate

cpi.com has some parts but I still don't know where they go

Thks

Here's the dimension of the little clip.

The screw forces it against the steering column. you may have to bend it ato suit, as the bends follow the inside diameter of the turn signal body.

Go to your local hardware store and look thru their assortment of these.
You can probably find one to do the job, I have.
