| :) I went to look at the speedster he had for sale - sent a deposit before hand - when I saw the car - it wasn't what I really wanted. I had just met Warren, but he was very fair and gave me my deposit back when he found out that I really didn't want the car - without a fuss. Thank - you Warren from John Brown. |

I'm buying the 2110cc motor Warren has for sale (11th July 08 ) He has been very helpful. Especially as it has to make it's way to Australia.
I'll wait till it gets here, but he has been very patient.
Update- It has made it to Australia, and in good time.
Warren has been a pleasure to deal with and has sent over the engine as ststed, in good condition.
Thanks Warren |

Update- I've had the motor in the car for 3 weeks and it has ran pretty rough. Under load the motor felt as though it was missing over 2000revs.
After rebuilding the electrics and checking the carbs i was driving home from another mechanic when a valve spring snapped.
He was very apologetic on the phone stating that a friend of his assembles the heads. He thought they were new high tensile springs, but did not know for sure. He assembles the rest of the motor it seems.
He has not been able to supply much information for me about the motor, ie. what type of mallory was the distributor sent over, or how are the carbs set up.
Hopefully it was the spring causing the drop in power at 2000revs and it has not damaged the valve. I'll have to change them all and see. |
