| Has anyone replaced the front hood latch on a 65 ,eliminating the cable and went strictly with a button type handle(latch)? I am having trouble with mine lining up and latching and unlatching correctly.Was wondering if this would be the solution to this |

Can it be done.. probably.. but not really a solution for you..
Even the late model "button" style uses the latch.
The button is merely a safety hook.
