I have just picked up this toolkit and I was chasing some more info on it. I have found reference in it in a 67 and 69 hazet catalog but have never seen one till now. Are these kit common? (Bubble wrap present just to protect act as padding)

Hi composite,

congratulations to your find in that great condition =D> !

Itīs the 2500 E "Tourist" from between 1961 and 1964 because of the small "a" ("Hazet", not "HAZET" as it is after 1965).

Regards
Philipp

My Mistake there. Edited my title. Thanks for pointing that out, should of know that. It causes me another problem now. I cannot find any catalogue references for this era of time of a tool kit with the socket and bar.

Try the 1961 catalog, page 26: http://www.hazet.de/uploads/media/HAZET_Katalog_1961_P.pdf

Tried to make an overview about all the different "Tourist"-sets over the years...

I did not consider the stamping ("Hazet", "Tourist" or "VW") of the box itself:

That's a great table. Where the pre 65 2500 E kits flocked lined or anything like that. This kits case reminds me a lot of the kits with the valve adjuster and test light. eg mounting holes, no lining

The spark plug socket is 2505 and has its own separate bar which makes it look more like the picture of the 67 kit. Did the pre 65 ones have this set-up or could my one be a cross over set-up with a combination of large and small HAZET branding.

Thanks :) . I took the informations out of the existing catalogs. The list is certainly expendable, like the flocking, etc...

If your box has a 2505 instead of a 764 it could be replaced at some time (the box is - after all - at least 50 years old) or you have really a cross over set-up, as your Rectangular Tool Kit, but I doubt that ;) .

Please excuse me for re-opening this old tread. I recently bought what appears to be a Hazet Tourist 500E toolkit, but I have only 8 of the 12 pieces mac_intosh's helpful schedule identifies. The ones I need are:

Universal Pliers 760-3
Combination Wrench 600-14mm
Crank Type Speeder 772-2
and
Combination Pliers 1850-6 (6") 1952

I'm going to post a WTB on The Samba, but in the meantime would like to hear where, in the absence of a postive response at The Samba I might find replacements.

Thanks

I have found them via this site, fleabay as well as some secondhand shops. Sometimes it is just being there at the right time. The 772-2 can get expensive though
