| Hi I have a 1962 vw bug that im restoring this summer and I want to know what is the best way to take out the heater channels it was a Baja int the 80s or 90s it was on the California coast it has remanants of its floors and the heater channels are completely gone it had a strange factory combination of white paint white vinyl seats and a black ragtop sunroof and I've done some research and was made right about now in the December of 1961 so it needs a complete restoration |

You can go to the top of this page and where it says "search this forum" write in 'heater channel replacement.'
You'll discover that there are Many ways to remove HC. You have to decide what works for you.
Replacing the heater channels is basically drilling out spot welds and cutting away some regular welds. Take plenty of pics and measurements. |
