Pulled the old, disgusting roof lining and sound deadening from my bug. But now I'm having serious issues getting rid of the old glue. What do most people use to remove it? I've tried a few basic glue/goo remover products, but they're getting nowhere with this stuff. Any powerful glue removers out there, or am I just going to have to suck it up and spend hours upon hours scrubbing it off?

laquer thinner works if you can keep the area wet for a couple minutes it will soften the glue enough to scrub it off with a stiff brush or scotchbrite

I have heard that oven cleaner will soften the old glue. Not sure how it will treat the paint under the glue though.

A rag soaked with lacquer thinner, and a soft yellow plastic bond spreader. Only hold the rag over the adhesive long enough to soften it, scrape it off, wipe off the spreader, and repeat.
