i just installed 3.5" tweed lift spindles on my 73 std. beetle and my speedo cable is to short now. Do they sale a longer speedo cable or can i use a cable off a different model or year

Type 3 and Bus cables are longer.

I think I used a '69 T3 cable when I did the lift.

How do the speedo cables hold up off road?

If they hold up I may be tempted to not fill the speedo cable hole in the spindle and just run a stock speedo since my tires probably will be about 27in, which should read ~8% low on the speedo assuming it's accurate after 40 years.

I imagine they would be fine, just wire tie it to your tube frame so it doesn't jiggle around.

Super beetle speedo cable.

That would probably do the trick. I can probably dig up an early wheel bearing dust cover with the square drive hole in it somewhere around here. Besides, filling the spindle probably doesn't beef it up much anyways.
