Has anyone installed any sort of door brake or door check to their buses to hold the front doors open? My wife has bad knees and has trouble getting into bus and we want to put something to hold doors open while she gets in.

I thought they all had these built in factory. All of ours do.

Later Splitties had them, the earlier ones don't. I'm not sure what to recommend to you other than to say in my opinion DON"T alter the earlier Bus unless her condition REALLY requires it.

For those with a later spilt--do you have pics of them?

If it's something I can add that's oem, I don't mind doing it in the interest of safety---oem+ :)

It's a mechanism inside the door so it might be difficult to add?

I found these 2 thread with some pics:

This is good advice - I was thinking he needs the door held open while he helps her in though.

You could open the door and stick a tennis ball in there.
Doesn't hurt paint, holds door open, and fits on the parcel tray for easy storage.

ding---ding--ding---ding---! I think we have a winner Alex!!
put it on a cord or short dowel so it can be removed by the passenger.

Ain't talking Viagra here, but I use hardballs. You know, not blue balls, but sure as hell not soft balls neither. I got one to the left and to the right, and keep em' from bouncing around jammed between the parcel tray/dash. Open door, slip hardball up in there deep and you'll see, leather keeps the painted jam pretty happy. So happy with the way it works, I keep two balls deep in all my buses...

Anyone for some AC/DC? (Can't attach Youtube from this Government Computer, someone?)
