Looks nice! Congrats! Have fun! You're gonna love it!

But...

Check/change your fuel lines! :D

Have Fun.

AAA+ is your Friend.

So is a credit card.

So is a Bentley and some tools.

As mellow as can be, you are in a westy now.

Expect the unexpected and it'll be the adventure of a lifetime.

Nice van, welcome to the Westy life!
So, I'll be the first to say it. Check your fuel lines, and replace if not new within the last few years.

I cant wait.

Cheers!

Sounds like a great van to spend an amazing year in!

Welcome!

Check in often, become part of this strange family and you will suddenly discover you have a network of friends offering help, advice and yes, even parts from coast to coast and border to border!
Heck, well beyond Border to Border! We have those strange northern people here as well!

Start a "build" thread and tell us about your adventures!
We LOVE pictures!

Enjoy your new home, as you've been told multiple times change those fuel lines (proven engine fire source) and check out your cooling system for old decaying hoses and bits.

Beautiful Van

I am partial to 85s, as I have owned one over 10 years. Have traveled to 28 states and Canada twice in it.

Good folks here. Helpful and honest. Sometimes a bit over-the-top, but every "family" has those.

The archives are a great source of information.

Get to know it, listen to it, take care of it. Don't be in a hurry. Don't worry.

AAA Premier, Bentley, VanCafe and GoWesty are your friends.

Get your hands dirty.

We do like pictures. You will take many of your Vanagon in front of things.
Complete strangers will approach you and want to chat. This is normal.

Best Wishes and Happy Trails

We also did a year long tour - haven't tallied how many National Parks we saw along the way, probably less than 20. I only wish I could have begun this adventure when I was as young as you. Have a great time!

Sounds like an amazing adventure awaits. Just to repeat what others have already mentioned...

Prepare and plan ahead for common issues, take lot's of pictures, report back and enjoy the adventure.

Along with AAA, CC, spare parts and tools the Vanagon Rescue Squad is also a nice thing to know about.
